About Steven

The best work often happens before anyone is watching.

For decades, Steven has worked behind the scenes helping accomplished professionals communicate themselves and their ideas at their best—often when the stakes are high and the opportunity won’t come around twice.

An experienced eye

Seeing quickly what will make the greatest difference.

Within minutes of watching someone communicate, Steven can identify the few changes that will meaningfully improve how that person comes across—whether it’s greater clarity, a stronger story, fewer verbal distractions, more confident presence, or simply getting to the point.

From there, the work becomes individualized: focused feedback, deliberate practice, and enough rehearsal for the improvement to become natural.

Steven brings the perspective of someone who has been there himself. He has delivered more than 400 professional presentations and coached hundreds of professionals, from emerging leaders to C‑suite executives, across organizations and audiences around the world.

Much of his experience has been forged within leading global pharmaceutical organizations, preparing professionals for board presentations, national launches, executive meetings, major interviews, keynotes, business reviews, and complex medical and scientific communications.

What matters most to Steven is simple: the person he works with gets better—and when their moment arrives, they’re ready for it.

What clients notice

“You could have picked out over 1,000 things that needed to be changed. However, you focused on the two or three small, yet significant things that made the most impact.”

The experience

Practical work that becomes natural.

Moment Matters is intentionally personal, focused, and individualized.

We work primarily one-on-one and with small teams, tailoring each engagement to the person, the objective, and the moment—not to a predetermined curriculum. The work is practical and active: focused coaching, candid feedback, deliberate practice, and rehearsal when it matters.

Support may center on an important moment already on the calendar or continue over time as new opportunities and challenges arise. Engagements may be virtual or in person, with one goal throughout: meaningful improvement you can see, feel, and use.

“While it was a bit uncomfortable at first, I have to admit it was eye-opening. I completely agree with your feedback on both volume and tempo and where my ‘sweet spots’ are. Appreciate all the insight and humor you brought to this process—it made the whole experience more enjoyable.”
